The reason homes and apartments are inexpensive to rent in the Jacksonville area are because the average price for homes is very low. In fact, although it increased over 11% over the same period last year, homes for Jacksonville are still under $90 per square foot. That is very low and thus makes the average price of the home in the Jacksonville area under $130,000.
There are a significant amount of resales as far as you and I are concerned as they are over 6000 resales and new homes available in the Jacksonville area to buy but is far as rentals go there are not so many that are inexpensive or cheap so you have to look high and low.
Some of the most popular areas for the expensive homes are the Deerwood, Ponte Vedra, Orange Park, and Mandarin areas where the homes are in the low mid six figures in some areas and averaging around $350,000. As far as rentals go and have to have a very good job to afford a rental in those areas.
For the lower-priced rentals in the Jacksonville area you would be looking at the Westside, the north side, the south side, the east side, some of the Jacksonville beaches and certain parts of Clay County. Those are not bad areas to live in their just different than the high profile, high priced areas and are more prone to the regular Joe living there then having a person who has an executive
job and drives a Maserati, Mercedes-Benz or BMW.
You'll see a fair amount of Chevrolets and Pontiacs in driveways as well as pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles in the "regular" neighborhoods. Those of the neighborhoods that you want to look for if you looking for a low price rental. It makes no sense to go look at some of the very fancy areas unless you're looking for a very high rental home and or average person is not. It's nice to take a ride through those high areas to see what it's it's like to live on the other side of the tracks but in general that's not something that are average person would do.
In addition to that you will not find very many rentals in those areas because it is more prone to people buying and renting except on a short-term executive basis.
Schools in the Jacksonville area are very good as well as Clay County so getting a low price home rental in the Jacksonville area is not bad when you consider how will bet that your children.
